TRICKING WORKSHOP
WITH SESSHOUMARU... May 2, 2009 12:00pm-1:00pm
Bio: Sesshoumaru, King of Demons
Born in Iga Ueno, Japan, Ukyo Sesshoumaru Yasukiyo grew up inside of a buddhist temple that also served as a martial arts academy. While there, he studied Iga-ryu Ninjutsu and used his affinity with the "Kuji Goshin Ho" and "Bakemonojutsu" to become a respected exorcist.
After releasing his sampler "Unleashed", he quickly gained the respect of everyone in the community, and changed the way people thought about tricking. A few months later, Ukyo teamed up with a local group "Txtrickzters" [Texas-Trickzters], and crashed Charlie Lee Nationals, a NASKA tournament held in the east coast. From it, came the CLN 06' Sesshoumau Sampler, which cemented everyone's thoughts of Ukyo being the best tricker in world. A few weeks afterwards, Ukyo was contacted by Chris deVera to attend Loopkicks Camp 2006…a moment Ukyo had been anticipating since high school.
After attending Loopkicks Camp in 2006, Ukyo became affiliated with Team Loopkicks, and would later go back to Texas to finish up Grad School. In 2008, Ukyo returned to California for Loopkicks Camp 2008, and cemented himself as a member of the team. Now Ukyo works with Team Loopkicks on several different projects, and aims to spread the knowledge of Martial Arts Tricking as much as he can.
Workshops & Seminars
MAT Stances
A seminar that goes over the three main positions that a person experiences in Martial Arts Tricking, and how each move initiates and terminates in these positions. Ultimately helps people understand which tricks can be perfomred after each other, and how to alter tricks in order for them to be used how you want them to be.
MAT Groundwork
A seminar that goes over various sweeping techniques and transitions that help you gain momentum for a big finish. Helps trickers variate their combinations so that their hits happen on multiple-levels; instead of being at head height all the time. Also teaches them transition skills that aren't realy considered tricks; but aids and adds style to the tricks that come afterwards.
MAT Down
A seminar that goes over how tricks can be altered so that a person can enter the "down" position. Provides a creative way for people to get into PRS [power ranger stance] and the splits, and also links them to groundwork opportunities.
X'Swipe
A workshop that goes over the characteristics of a "swipe", and how to get your hips in a position where you can effectively swipe from. This seminar helps people make their Pop Swipe, Hyperswipe, Fulltwist Swipe, Corkswipe, Twist Swipe, and any other swipe more powerful and full.
