ello everyone,

you can check out my diploma SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING here:

SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING on the Behance Network

I only had 4 months for this work but i really worked my ass off to realize the project. There's so much I could tell about it: about the structure, the design, the colour scheme or the typography. But since I can only show some of the pages (the book includes 256 pages) I just want everyone to enjoy this project.

This is no commercial project, it's my diploma, finished july 2008. So I am thankful for everyone who helped me along my way, specially to all the photographers who donated their works for this diploma. It couldn't been done without them.

I don't claim the book to be the ultimate truth, it is not. I wanted to talk to so many more people but I couldn't get a hold of everyone i wanted to, plus, within the time I worked on my diploma Frosty Freeze passed away which made it even harder to get a hold of some of the OGs.
But the book does cover the development of our artform from its beginning until now. Each chapter deals with one decade of the dance and at the end of each chapter, there's an interview with someone related to this decade or involved in that time. So thanks to to Buz (Tocuh of Rock), Storm (Battle Squad), Cros1 (Freestyle Session), Thomas Hergenröther (Battle of the year) and Focus (Flo-Mo) for the interviews.

I hope this project encourages people to really see what can be done with this art. Go, find out how much our dance has to offer and that it's up to you to present it in a way it deserves. We all love this dance, so we can do wonderful projects with it.

I need to say that this book is not about to be published. I would need to re-check all facts, talk to some of the OGs that couldn't give me answers yet. Therefore, I just won't find the time right now, I work 10-12 hours each day and when I come home I'm just tired. Plusl, I do not own the rights on the photos, they belong to this wonderful photographers which are all listed on that site under "credits" (check the project info). They really deserve the props.

The book also includes a DVD. A short trailer can be seen on that site too.
Thanks for everyone involved... unfortunately I couldn't put everyone that helped in the trailer, i feel bad about that, haha, but thank you Ata, Just Do It, Gizmo, Movie One, Ynot, Emiko, PowerSerge, Sonic, Palmer, Puzzles, Darkness, Ronin, T.I.P and everyone else.
Not to forget Tony from Style2ouf who edit the trailer and made as dope as it is.

Once more, just enjoy the project, don't take it as the ultimate truth, just see what we can do with and for the dance.
