Official 2009 DMC Metro Area Regional DJ Battle
We just pulled a last minute DMC regional together for the 5 Elements of Hip Hop event on Tuesday, April 14th

DJs must arrive by 6pm to check in. Battle begins at 6:30pm and should end by or before 8pm (since there are other elemental battles).
All ages all day from 11am-12am. $15 to get in or $5 with a GMU ID. Prizes to be announced. Competing DJs will have to pay admission at the door (we came into the event planning late and could not avoid it). We'll use Technics turntables and probably Rane TTM 56 mixers.

1. This is a DMC regional battle. DJs will battle showcase style (not head to head). Each DJ will perform a 2 minute elimination routine. If a DJ is selected for the top 6 DMC Finalists, he or she must perform a 6 minute DJ routine.
2. Each DJ must bring his/her own headphones, slipmats, needles, records etc.
3. DJs can use any needles they like this year but will not be permitted to use their own mixers or turntables.
4. Competitors must be bona-fide nationals in the United States of or be able to prove that they have resided in the USA for a minimum of 6 years.
More info to follow once you've registered. The champion of this battle will move through to the DMC USA DJ Finals to be held in New York City on Saturday August 1, 2009.
